The clients are a young couple in the creative industry. Their previous house was a HDB intermediate terrace, and thus were used to having a roomy house, with a balance mix of indoor and outdoor space.

The Glass Block house is a reconstruction of an existing 2-storey semi-detached house to create an additional floor.

HIDDEN HOUSE

A small bricked, 2-storey conserved bungalow sits atop a 30-metre-wide by 100-metre-long slopping site. Elevated 12 meters high at the North, the 20th century Plantation Estate overlooks large terracing grass fields which terminates southwards into a luscious mixture of mature tropical trees such as Tembusu, Angsana, Ficus and Palms.

A reorganization of the apartment's floor plan to accommodate an enlarged walk-in wardrobe. The brief calls for a design with the flexibility of converting the living space into a guest room. To maximize space, in our design, we have fold away dining table, sofa and doors.
